Top 10 Reasons to Visit Ubud, Bali

Ubud, Bali, is one of my absolute favorite places on Earth. This charming town nestled in the heart of Bali holds a unique atmosphere that I can only describe as magical. The city is a cultural center that offers a unique mix of experiences, rich culture, and traditions that make it a must-visit for all travelers. From a wide variety of yoga classes and delicious cuisine, from the warmth of its people to stunning rice fields, Ubud is a traveler's paradise. In this article, I want to share what makes Ubud so unique and my top 10 reasons why you need to visit Ubud, Bali.

1. Yoga Heaven

Ubud holds the title of Bali's Yoga Capital, and it's not hard to understand why. Surrounded by a serene environment, it's the perfect destination to revitalize your body, mind, and soul. The town holds an extensive array of Yoga Studios, each offering a diverse selection of yoga classes. Whether you're into traditional Hatha Yoga, Yin, Fire Classes, or unique workshops like Conscious Connected Breathwork sessions and ecstatic dance classes, you will indeed find the perfect fit. You don't need to be a professional yogi to enjoy these classes; they cater to all experience levels.

My all-time favorite Yoga studio in Ubud, Bali, is called Alchemy Yoga Center. Alchemy is the perfect place to unwind, relax, and enjoy a genuinely unique Yoga class led by incredibly talented yoga teachers. The Yoga Center is easily accessible right by the street, and once you enter through the doors, you arrive at the most serene and green oasis.

To escape the tourist masses, check out Mancingan Rice Terrace as a perfect alternative. Admire the stunning emerald-green landscapes here and take a relaxing stroll through the rice fields.

Likewise, due to gaining massive popularity in recent years, Tegallalang has become a tourist heaven offering lots of activities, such as swings (see image below) and other photo spots. If you want a more serene getaway from the city, stroll further into the (Tegallalang) rice fields, leaving the tourist masses behind, or check out neighboring rice fields such as Mancingan Rice Terrace.

9. Day Pools Passes in Ubud, Bali

There are plenty of guest houses in Ubud that allow visitors to enter and use the pool and its amenities for a small fee or a commitment to spend a certain amount of money during your time at the pool.

For example, at the hotel Jungle Fish, you can reserve a sun bed by the pool that comes with committing to spend 350.000 IDR (US$ 22) on food and drinks. So, you don't pay any entry costs, but you commit to spending $22 US dollars, which is a fair price for a nice ambiance. When I visited, I chose a mocktail, two mini burgers, a smoothie, and Bao Buns for takeaway.

Next time you're in Ubud, Bali, don't forget to experience pure relaxation by dipping in one of Ubud's infinity pools overlooking the picturesque rice terraces.
